To those who liked the Kadal Yanai track the best in Anniyan: I can only say I feel sorry for you. Get some taste! There's more to music than just beats. Kadal Yanai vs. Oh Sukumari is like bud light vs. chardonnay, potatoes vs. caviar. My order of preference is andangaka > sukumari > iyengaru veetu > kadal yanai > kannum kannum.

Re: incredible ..

So you are someone who knows me. Your username probably makes you ex-iitm, but no other info is to be gleaned from your account. No luck with the IP either. You're someone I haven't kept in touch with for quite a while, cuz otherwise it would have come as no surprise to you. You're somewhere on the east coast. Still a wide open field. No idea who you are dude. If I had more time I could grep old emails for a space before the punctuation at the end of the sentence (I think I actually remember making a mental note of that years ago - pretty unique to you, whoever you are!), and other markers in your messages, and I'm pretty sure that'd suffice to de-anomymize you, but I still have a paper to finish...

Re: incredible ..

Oh its you.. now I feel so stupid.

Adaptation is my #1 favorite movie of all time. Before I watched it, I often wished to myself that there was a recursive movie, and wondered what one would be like, but never for one moment thought anyone in Hollywood would have the balls/brains to make one. Halfway into the movie I realized it was recursive, and was awed, delirious, rapturous. After that every single new development in the movie was mind-bending. The MPD in adaptation is obviously on a completely different level from your garden variety cheap thriller. Scratch that, its two or three levels above the rest. Plus it's never made explicit.

The music and the movie is the suck. everything else is okay. (of course, except the cast).

The hottest places in hell are reserved for scriptwriters and directors who use multiple personality disorder in the 21st century. They will be tortured by being forced to watch all the MPD movies ever produced one after the other in an infinite loop with no break.

But the anniyan music rocks, and anyone who thinks otherwise is on crack.

My preference goes like this Kumari>Randaka>Iyengaru Veetu - the rest aren't worth a mention!
Here's a tiny review that I'd written months ago!
