One of the most painful days of my life is coming to and end. Had a course project due at 9 this morning. After working like an EA slave for the last week or so, I finished up with 20 hours of continuous work (from 1pm yesterday) with a 1 hr break for dinner.
What the hell was I working on? Its a Mandatory Access Control system for Linux based on SELinux implemented on top of LIDS (linux intrusion detection system) on top of LSM (linux security modules) on top of UML (user mode linux). Insanely, insanely complicated. But now its done. It won't trouble me ever again. The tragic irony is that I chose the project topic, it wasn't forced on me. This is the course. Don't get tricked into taking it. Unless you like working for EA.
I liked parts of the project though. Like the part where I got to bash SELinux in the project report. Mostly for being too ambitious and too complicated to work.
I have another project due next Monday, which I hope won't be nearly as hard as this one. But I've decided that the minute I've turned that in, I'm gonna switch to a positively hedonistic lifestyle :) No more hard work for me. I've had it. I'm a carefree bum now. Racketball, here I come!
