Hello, world! - Arvind Narayanan's journal [entries|archive|friends|userinfo]

Hello, world! [Jun. 13th, 2004|09:16 pm]
Arvind Narayanan
Hello PFI readers! Sayamindu just added me. I really like the planet concept. The singal-to-noise ratio of the average blog is so low that you need some kind of aggregation and/or filtering to sustain a meaningful level of reader interest. Now if only there was a way to categorize your posts into topics and export only the relevant topic(s) for the planet, that'd be perfect. Over here at livejournal there's the concept of "communities" that addresses the problem, but I don't think its a very good solution. Anyway I notice the blurb cleverly spins the bug as a feature by calling PFI a "window into the world, work and lives of developers and contributors from India who are working on Free/Open Source Software." :-)

P.S The other thing I really like about Planet FLOSS India is that the text on the website is justified. Hate reading text with a jagged edge. He he.
