My mental arithmetic has degraded by now to the point of utter uselessness. Fortunately, my day job requires no arithmetic whatsoever (and I think it is superfluous to point out the irony therein.) But my gym life does: I'm flummoxed trying to figure out how many plates to load on the leg press to make 640 pounds, or the percentage of protein by calories in some food or the other. I don't even try to calculate how many miles I can drive on a half tank of gas -- I simply refuel when it hits the quarter tank mark and save myself the trouble.
In other news, this Monday I got to work at 4:30 AM :) The highway is a little crowded at 7, which is when I usually come in, and it frustrates me that the carpool lane is empty, so I wanted to get up early enough that I could drive on it (carpool restriction starts at 5am). Anyway, even 7am is ridiculously early, cuz most people start arriving 10-ish, and some only show up in the afternoon. So I get three hours of undisturbed work done, and life is good.
