I realized during my workout today that it would probably be my last one this year, because I'm traveling starting tomorrow. Which wouldn't be a big deal except that leg pressing 700 lbs was one of my goals for 2006
(and the only one that I hadn't given up on long ago :-). I haven't leg pressed more than once or twice after August
. Happily, however, I found that my gains on the lunge and the squat have translated to gains on the leg press, and I was able to work my way up to 700 (x 8 reps) without much fuss. If I kept at the leg press for a week or two to re-adapt, my 1RM would probably be around 800. Nevertheless, the leg press is vastly easier than the other leg exercises, so this ain't much to write home about; it just proves that I've made consistent strength gains this year.
By now I've been on a 3500 calorie minimum
diet for more than a month, and still can't make appreciable weight gains. It's infuriating.
Finally, let me give a shout to my friend Neil
. We may not see eye to eye on politics, but he's a great guy and he dances like... well, like no one else, that's for sure :-)
