[Current Mood |dumbfounded]

So I'm trying to build a bookshelf with one of those cheap ass put-it-together-yourself sets.

Some of the terminology here I recognize from back when they forced me to work with tools at the torture cells at IIT. The rest looks like gibberish.

I suppose this is like a rite of passage into manhood :)

The alternative doesn't seem to be much better either.

Ikea? It's a touch more expensive than Target, but the furniture assembly tends to be comparatively hassle free.

Awesome. Now that we've properly met each other (on lj :-), we should hang out some time. Let me know if you're free some evening.

Ikea would have been my first choice, except that I didn't feel like driving to Round Rock last night. With a rental car. (The sad story of my car is chronicled in previous posts.)

oh, it wasn't just the documentation that was bad

actually, the documentation was pretty good, given the design, which is the real culprit

there were at least 6 different connectors to put together the panels and shelves

two would have probably sufficed with a good design
