To those of you who can't quit complaining about how facebook shows you too much spam on your feed page, I have a message:

The same goes for the privacy/application spam whiners.

How about the applicatations that trick you into clicking through to them using a misleading message, and then when you try to get away, they try to trick you again with a dialogue box that says something like "If you do not want to not navigatat away from this page, click okay", in the hopes that you will have no idea whether to hit "cancel" or "okay". And other sleazy stuff.

sorry for being rude in the post. i guess i was annoyed about other stuff and took it out on my lj readers :)

anyway.. it's true that facebook made some questionable decisions very early on, in the hopes of encouraging app virality. they didn't anticipate how spammy the apps would get and it got beyond their control. since then they've been doing a good job of clamping down. apparently the upcoming redesign (which has been upcoming for a long time now) takes this to an extreme and doesn't let apps do very much at all in terms of contacting users.

the sliders are in all likelihood relative. so sliding everying down is like doing nothing at all.

it looks like what you want is a blank page. you can get that by typing "about:blank" into firefox. no need to even go to facebook.
